Canvatorium Project Update
A few changes to the project in July of 2023.
Over the past couple of days, I’ve been working on some changes for the Canvatorium project. The most significant change is that I’ve moved the pages for each lab to the vrhermit website. In another post, I’ll provide more details on how I accomplished this, but here’s a brief summary: I created a shortcode that allows me to add a 3D or WebXR scene to a page. For hosting the Nuxt app, I’m still using the development server at Vercel, which contains the Vue and Babylon JS code I used in each lab.

Moving the lab pages to my site offers several benefits:
- Improved organization: Instead of using the Nuxt app for the 3D scenes and relying on my website and social media for additional lab details, I now have a single page to link to for each lab.
- Flexibility for adding new labs: With this new structure, I can include labs that are not part of the Nuxt project. For example, I can write standalone scenes for more complex labs or even incorporate labs written in PlayCanvas, React Three Fiber, or A-Frame.
- Labs as posts: Scenes have become a new type of post on my site. I’ve introduced a custom post type called “scenes” to include the labs, and it’s not limited to Canvatorium. I can also feature other 3D and WebXR scenes in this section.
